    Read this thread before posting

Read this entire post from start to finish and ensure you are familiar with exactly what we want.

    Yes read the whole thing.

There will be no exceptions to the information we ask for so if you don't have it or don't know what we are talking about then don't post your application.

The Last Watch is always looking to add players to its ranks. We just don't add very many or very often. You have to be exceptional in order to stand out and so this post outlines what we are looking for. One of the primary things we look for in a guild member is the ability to follow instructions and communicate well. Reading this post, following the instructions and producing a well written application will increase your chances of being accepted. In contrast if you ignore this post and produce a badly written application with insufficient information then you will destroy any chance you had.

    Playtime

The Last Watch runs events and raids on a regular basis:
    • Tuesday (from 20:00 CET)
    • Thursday (from 20:00 CET)
    • Friday (from 20:00 CET)
    • Sunday (from 13:00 CET with a break for 2 hours in the middle)
Typically we try to finish raids by 23:00 CET but things can and do take longer sometimes. In exceptional circumstances we may raid on different days but this is published in advance and is the exception rather than the rule. Outside of these times many guild members run unofficial events or raids in order to progress towards our collective goals. Being online regularly helps facilitate this and strengthens the guild as a whole. Simply logging on for official raids is not enough; we expect people to enjoy playing WoW and to want to log on every day.

    Main characters and progression

We recruit people for a particular character that we nominate as their main. This is the character we expect them to bring on all official raids and focus on developing. The balance of the guild is based upon people playing and progressing their main characters. This is a fundamental facet of being in The Last Watch and so if you cannot accept it from the outset you should not apply. Furthermore we expect most high level alts on the server to be guilded with us so we can communicate with each other easily and gather people for impromptu events or raids.

    PvE and PvP

The Last Watch is a PvE guild. To this end we only run offical PvE raids and don't have any official PvP groups. With that said we do encourage and help members to participate in PvP where this does not interfere with our PvE objectives. Furthermore the guild has a large pool of motivated, intelligent and well equipped characters from which people have in the past been able to form very successful PvP groups when they are so inclined.

    Hardware and connection

The nature of many raids means that there will be a large number of characters in close proximity to one another fighting dozens of mobs (or other characters) and casting many spells. Every single member has to be able to perform under those conditions. This means your hardware has to be up to the job of displaying all of this and allowing you to function and react at the same time. Furthermore your connection needs to be reliable enough that you won't constantly be going LD, lagging badly or need to reconnect. You must be able to do your job reliably on raids or you aren't any good to us.

    Voice communication

We use Ventrilo for communication during raids. It is absolutely required that you have the Ventrilo client installed and working so you can join our dedicated server. All guild members must be able to listen to Ventrilo during a raid and it is highly recommended that you have a working microphone so you can speak over it as well. This is both an organisational and social thing for us; if you are unable to use voice comms for some reason then you should not apply. Please confirm on your application that you are able to use Ventrilo and state whether or not you have a microphone for speaking over it.

    Skills, experience and attitude

You should know your main character inside out. You should know all of the zones and instances and be able to navigate around them efficiently. You should know how your character works on raids and in a general sense what will be expected of you. This isn't a guild for people who are still learning the game.

Raiding requires people to listen and act. This doesn't sound very difficult but you would be surprised at how many people can't do this. The raid leaders will need your undivided attention for the duration and will expect you to respond to what they say.

The Last Watch is a good guild to be part of. With that said sometimes things go wrong and people naturally get upset. This means if you screw up then expect to be told about it, especially if you just messed up everyones raid that evening. Learn from this and move on. We don't want drama queens who leave us at the slightest hint of critiscism. We are all passionate about the guild and the game so things can get heated at times. If you don't think you would be able to cope with this then don't bother applying.

    Player history

Many of our members are friends in real life or have gotten to know each other well from playing together over the years. Furthermore a great proportion of the guild has been playing WoW since beta so we know a lot of people on the server. Rest assured that we will find out who you are, what your reputation is like, why you want to join and who really played those characters from the beginning. It is in your best interests to be honest and upfront from the start about who you are, why you want to join and what history you have within WoW. If we find out that you lied or attempted to mislead us then you will be removed from the guild.

    Level requirements

You must be level 80 at the time of your application.

    Equipment requirements

You are required to show us your best equipment. Please provide the URL to the armory profile. Make sure that you have all of the enchants and gems showing correctly on your equipment. Understand that you will have to be pretty well geared to stand a chance. The better your gear and the more you can show a clear objective with your equipment choices the greater the likelihood of us taking you seriously.

Have you included the enchants and gems on your gear? If your gear is not enchanted or gemmed we are going to want to know why. Using un-enchanted or un-gemmed gear is like coming to a raid half naked.

    Factions and total /played time

    Please state:
    • Your total /played time
    • The /played time you have at level 80

Additionally please list any notable faction standings you have with a particular emphasis on the ones needed to access heroic mode dungeons.

    Applying

The requirement for classes is as follows:
    • Death Knight - High 1 Tank and 1 DPS
    • Druid - High 1 Balance
    • Hunter - Low
    • Mage - Low
    • Paladin - High 1 Protection
    • Priest - High 1 Holy/Disc
    • Rogue - Low
    • Shaman - High 1 Elemental
    • Warlock -Low
    • Warrior - Low

Low = We are not recruiting this class.
Medium = We may recruit this class if the right application comes along.
High = We are actively seeking to recruit this class.

In light of the above if you are still interested in joining the guild please post a thread in this forum using the following template:

    Character name:

    Character class:

    Character spec:

Which glyphs are you using, and why:

    Character tradeskill professions and levels:

Why do you feel those professions best suit your character and/or playstyle:

What is your secondary spec and why did you choose it:

Have you ever rerolled and if so why did you reroll:

Provide a link to a recent WWS log: Optional, but we urge you to supply one.

Do you have any offspec experience and do you have gear for it:

    Previous guild(s):

    Reason(s) for leaving previous guild(s):

What was your attendance in your previous guild:

Reasons why you would like to join:

What sets you aside from other applicants:

Armory URL: If you fail to provide a profile your application will be ignored.

What sort of connection are you on and how stable is it:

Ventrilo: Please confirm you are able to use Ventrilo and have a microphone for speaking.

    Highest boss killed:

Your primary play times, will you make all our raids: Be realistic here. Exaggerating for the sake of the application with "I can play 12 hours per day" does not help us evaluate how often you would actually be available.

Do you have any upcoming events (like a holiday) that would interrupt your trial period:

Were all of the above characters levelled by you from the start:

Before judging someone, first, walk a mile in their shoes. That way they're a mile away and you have their shoes!
